Does that sound like a scene from V for Vienetta? Perhaps an alternate future where political correctness has not only gone mad, it's got even. Well, people, this situation is (apparently) going to happen soon, in the lovely (and slightly backward) emerald isle of Ireland.

Yes. Somehow they've managed to make being blasphemous illegal! If you say something nasty about an entity of whose existance we have no proof, you could be fined up to 25000 Euros!

I'm not religious at all - I regard myself as athiest and think that I'm bloody entitled to that choice - but I'm happy that people find comfort and appropriate guidance in their beliefs - I think Jesus had good morals. But I also have a little obsession - I read religious websites for fun and to fuel my rage. You see, I actually really hate stupid/ignorant people who cannot think for themselves and rely on what amounts to utter BOLLOCKS for reference information, while ignoring anything that goes against their arguments. Fanboys, Christians and commoners are my favourite targets - if you're all three then probs best to keep quiet.

www.christiananswers.net is a tremendous website that shows how stupid people can be - supplying a near infite amount misguided information to it's audience. I read it with a real sense of hilarity and fear as those crazy fanatics reference insane, untrue and contradictory 'evidence' to support their arguments. Example is this nonsensical babble

I mean FFS they rate Harry Potter as 'Morally Offensive' because it's got magic in!!! (Dante/Chase, you'll love the movie reviews and the advice about Pornography Addiction and Homosexuality!)

Seriously though, take a look at the arguments and guidelines on there… what the fuck kinda of retard reads that brain-washing bullshit and goes "Yes, that makes perfect sense!" The worrying thing is that a LOT of retards read that brain-washing bullshit... and many of them are gun-owning Americans who already have a hard time distinguishing fact from reality. Add the fear of being smited by an almighty creator and you've really got a time bomb on your hands.

It's the very same brain-washed retards that are dictating what the Irish can and cannot say. Personally, try not to offend anyone - but I'd like to think that if one of my opinions was in someway blasphemous, I'd have the right to say it freely and that other people also had the right to either agree or disagree.

Ok, I'll admit that I might be wrong about the God thing - I might get sent to Hell for an eternity of damnation for all I know. I've heard God's forgiving though so I'll take my chances and deal with that facts, evidence and science that point to an opinion that's closest to the truth as possible.

Hmmm… I don't think you can describe anything as 'proof' as there are too many margins for error.

For example:

  • people have used hallucinogenic drugs for thousands of years.
  • any records made are the writers interpretation of the truth, which may not be accurate.
  • any translations of ancient records may be misinterpreted or taken out of context. Take "The devil is wicked." vs "Max Payne is wicked!" for example.
  • 'evidence' is easily tampered with.
  • evidence that goes against the point you want to make is easily ignored or left out of an argument. "PS3 is way better than 360 - it has bluray!" (but it's online interface sucks dogs cocks.)

If you want to believe in anything, you can! Simply ignore all the facts, pick the ones that support your story and ignore the rest. Everyone does that with everything - how many tracks by an artist you love would you actually HATE if they were by someone else? How many people would have liked 'Jackie Brown' if it wasn't done by Tarrantino. How shit would KZ2 be if it was a 360 exclusive etc.
