It isnt an MMO if you dnt have to grind to get what u want, look at wow its easy to lvl but if you want the best of the est gear which makes u a top player not just being 80 you need to grind your arse off. Thats what makes it fun, working towards being better than everyone else.

Not at all, I never grinned on guild wars, that game was AMAZING for an MMO and it was free, Guild Wars seriously has to be one of the funnest MMOs(ish) games I have played, no grinding needed tbh.

NCSoft takes grinding to a new level though, because there games are made for koreans then ported for us, and we dont like to grind.

I am saying most free MMO's are shit, they need to make thier money some way and that way is normally allowing players to gain an advantage over other by paying for it.

As you say Guild wars was guild wars, not really an MMO as you said.

SL2 (AzureL2 ) was a free server for Linage 2 which wasn't free.
AzureL2 didn't offer anything to players that allowed them to gain an advantage we relied on donations and fun items (which I created), its why we go down as one of the best L2 servers in history

Also, its not a contradiction, I said it looks good but never got round to playing it, when I found out it was a free MMO with no user base their must be a problem right?
I found the problem is its a grind fest, the same reason why most NCSoft games fail, also it had a cash shop, in my opinion these are two factors to fail an MMO, for some reason NCSoft just wont learn.

Also after a certain lvl it turns into a huge grind to farm money to buy better stuff. you would get like 800 credits if you win a game, but one piece of armor would be like 180,000 credits so people would say "fuck that and just stop playing.
