It's a big fucking cinema screen (something like 3 stories high) that pretty well fills your vision area. It uses extra big film for more detail too (sorta like Blu-ray compared to DVD). For some reason they play a lot of 3D films on them and other gimmicky shit but they're not all 3D.
In scientific tests in the late 70's, Imax pornography was proved to be fatal when 32 audience members died after less than 27.5 seconds exposure to a 30ft unshaven minge during the 3D edition of cult skin-flick, 'Deep Throat'. Imax porn has subsequently been banned. The tragic events inspired the 1980s government health awareness campaign, "Frankie Says Trim Your Fucking Fanny"; the benefits of which compulsive masturbaters are still reaping today.
