I thought I'd make a quick post for the American members who think they are free from this.
An Anti-counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) being negotiated (now in its 6th round) almost entirely in secret contains a proposal that would make internet service providers cut off the internet of users that have illegally shared copyrighted material at least three times. Copyright holders need not provide "proof" of copyright infringement, they merely need to just simply make a "claim", leaving the burden of proof dumped onto the internet user. This of course leads to isp's being forced to monitor their internet users constantly.

America is hoping to have similar plans in place unfortunately.
I say, let the bill pass. I'm sure there will be a way we can get some parliament IP addresses to get them banned from the internet as well :mad:

Just a heads up. There is a petition on the governments website. I'm not really sure what a petition will do to stop this from happening, but it can't hurt right?
It has only been up for a few days and already has some 25 thousand signatures and is the 6th most signed. -
