You have to change your password to be able to sign in on your PS3!
Find out how to change your PlayStation Network account password on PC.
An unauthorized access to PlayStation Network was confirmed in April 2011 and, as a security measure, a process for all customers to change their PlayStation Network account passwords was added.
Starting on 15 May 2011, an error message such as one of those shown below might be displayed when you attempt to sign in to PlayStation Network from a PSP system:
An error has occurred.
An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation
Network.
If such an error message is displayed and you cannot sign in to PlayStation Network, you must change your PlayStation Network password as follows.Note:
When you change your password, an email message will be sent to the email address registered with PlayStation Network (your sign-in ID). If you cannot receive messages at your registered email address, you will not be able to change your password.
If you cannot receive messages at the email address you have registered as your sign-in ID, prepare an email address that you can use to receive messages and contact us at uk.playstation.com/contact before you attempt to change your password.
Depending on your country/region of residence and the network environment you are using, you may not be able to change your PlayStation Network account password or make use of PlayStation Network services for some time after 15 May 2011.
The ability to change PlayStation Network account passwords and use PlayStation Network services - except for PlayStation Store - will be made available in all regions within a few days.1. Open https://store.playstation.com/login.gvm from the web browser on your PC or other device.
A screen for signing in to PlayStation Network is displayed.
2. Enter your sign-in ID (email address) and password.
Enter the current sign-in ID (email address) and password for your PlayStation Network account, and ensure that you can receive messages at this email address. (It can take up to 24 hours to receive this email)
3. Select [Sign In].
An email message will be sent to your registered email address. Follow the instructions in the email message to change your password. After you have changed your password, you will be able to sign in to PlayStation Network.
