Adobe Gives Up On Flash For Apple
-
Flash + Mac was always a bad combo.
It's not about Flash + Mac - it's about Flash on iPhone and iPad. Or more specifically stopping cross-platform App development platforms which Apple recently wrote into their T&C's (ie apps that can run across more than just apple devices) - which Flash would allow.
You think removing Other OS from PS3 is extreme? It's nothing compared to Apple. Apple are over-protective and not only restrict hardware access to their devices to the point developers can't achieve half of what would otherwise be possible, Apple also want their apps to adhere to Apple approved standards and strict developer guidelines in order to keep their brand unique. All a bit rich when you consider that 95% of apps are crap.
Interesting also that you can only devlop on iPhone using a Mac - no dev kit is available for PC.
Makes perfect sense for Adobe to not waste cash trying to make something work that Apple will not allow.
